Over the last few days, searched $17 in cents, $22 in nickels and $165 in dimes. All CWR.

Found this 1939D in one of the nickel rolls. I have been roll searching on and off since I was a kid, so call it about 40 years, and I have never found one of these before.

This is my original nickel folder. About 38-40 years old. The 1938D had been missing all that time (I don't store the silvers in here).

The cents yielded 10 common date wheats and the dimes were a skunk.

HH to all

Truly a great day for you, CJ. Been a long journey. 39D is a tough one to find. Must be overly satisfying that it came off just a few rolls.

Sweet man. I finished mine last year with a ‘38S that always eluded me. (Then I found another one a couple months later. Go figure.) I still have only found 1 ‘50D and 1 ‘39D. Got very lucky with those. It’s a pretty tough feat these days to complete a set of Jeffs with all the new nickels circulating in and the old coins getting more and more scarce. Nice work!

'06 thru '18 nics are nearly as annoying as shield cents...... 50-D------where ya hidin':tongue3::dontknow::BangHead:

The generation that put away rolls of UNC 50-D nickels is passing away. IMHO, its only a matter of time before someone here finds one or more of those rolls.

CJ, congrats on finding that 39-D, a date far more scarce than many people know. Your perseverance was rewarded!

Congrats. I expect the '38-D is right around the corner. I enjoy finding any of the mintmark Jeff's from the '30's. Pulled a '38-S yesterday myself.

Yep, the top 5 key Jeff dates will always be lurking for us to find (38 D&S, 39 D&S, and the crown 1950-D). I think that after ALL the silver dimes quarters & halves will be gone from the wild, nickel hunting will become the prime hunting ground.

Finding this 1939D completes the set for me. For the longest time, I was missing the 39D and the 50D. I think I found the 1938S in high school - I got it in change in the cafeteria and that was some 30+ years ago. Found the 1950D nearly 2 years ago in a roll and now the 1938D. You are right in that it is very tough to complete a set of Jeffs - it took me some 40 years. The 1950D pic is attached:
