After all my talk, I decided to hunt the mansion today instead of walking.

I figured I was feeling a bit better so why not? I actually tried a bit of a hunt
at the mansion instead of just walking around. The results?

Bout the same, but with a big difference! :

I think Blingie's getting mighty tired of my thirty day pass! LOL
Ya know, the piece he's frowning at reminds me of a Lieutenant's bar.
I wonder? :icon_scratch:

This piece was part of the "difference" I spoke of, I was hunting as DEEP as
I could possibly listen! I mean HARD! This came out from a full
FIFTEEN INCHES!! And remember, I only use a small garden hand shovel!
I know it was that deep because I measured it!

Made me a bit proud of myself! LOL

It's either a picture frame or maybe Santa lost one of his belt buckles. ;)

That brings me to what is fast becoming one of my favorite finds of all time!

She is lead, painted, and looks like it was on a base at one time.

She's had a hard life, but she's still a beautiful painted lady in my book!
I rescued the damsel from the bottom of a VERY, VERY deep hole! I almost
gave up twice! When I saw her face peeking up from the bottom I said, and I quote,
"BEEEE YOOOOTEEEEFUL!!! " LOL

The difference today was that I set out to find some "worthy" stuff AND....I DID! And...at the mansion!!
I felt very satisfied today!

Thanks for peeking!

Your a chick magnet. Nice finds

Looks like you pulled some interesting items. Glad you got back out to the mansion. How big is the lot?

I like the Barclay nurse. Here she is looking a little better with some of her co workers-

I tell ya L.D. this place is huge! I swear, it's like having my very own, private park to hunt. I know how blessed I am! :)
Would you believe that I can STILL look at an aerial and find ground there that I know I haven't put a coil over even yet!!?!
Also notice, how many actual coins come out of there. LOL Kinda tough for a self-confessed coinshooter. LOL

If I would EVER even consider upgrading to a new detector, it would be because I know there are things there waiting for me, just outside the reach of my ATP. BUT....15 inches deep!?!?! It's not shirking it's duty! I'll be ok....for quite a while. :)

Still, what a wonderful thing to have a place where it isn't important to find them. Always makes me feel better there.

By the way, anyone know how old the shell is?

Yeah, I know, I looked her up too. But there's a big difference. I FOUND this one! :)
Thanks!

I agree, anything pulled out of the ground is a better find. I just wanted to show what she looks like when she cleans up a bit.

Your casing according to what I just read is a dated Military contract round for an M-1903 Springfield .30-06 . Scroll down to lot no. 363 here- http://pdbullets.com/Pdbullets.com/catalog_order_files/#14.pdf

Headstamped ‘ W. R. A. CO. 5 06 ‘, this Cal. .30 M-1903ball has a flat brass primer and a slightly pointed CN-jacketed fullpatchbullet with a small impressed “W”. One of the dated contractrounds by Winchester, it has a few small stains and light toning but is in good condition. estimate- 20-40

Your standby hunting spot seems to have brought a big smile! Love the lady! Nice!

Nice ID Diggummup! I like the little lady too Gary!

Boy, Whadi, you know how to nurse a detecting trip. Congrats on the old Barclay toy. You know the adage, if there is one, there are more. (toy soldiers in the area.) Sub 8-)
