Above is the morning hunt, if you missed it!

Spent 4 hours in one of my fav spots. 7.5 hour day detecting & only rained on once.

I strungled to find much as I'm over lapping an area I have done quite well.

Coins:
3 Roman bronzes
1.5 lead tokens
1820s Farthing
1670s Farthing

Some buttons, 1 lead medieval.

Some bits including flints & roman pottery.

Picture 4:
Top left - my first Medieval Book Hasp, I have found many of the clasps which hook into the slot at the end. The 2 holes kept it on the leather (Bible probably) book.
Under it is a Medieval buckle plate
Another 17th century powder lead Flask Lid
A strange gaming piece, looks old but never seen anything like it. Chess Piece??

Buckles:
2 broken ones
A nice 17th century spur buckle - complete :)
D shaped 14th century buckle :)

Close-up of the Gaming piece with nice decor.

many old stuff in your aera ...

It is just a shame to see the shape those roman coins are in when retrieved from ploughed fields

I wish I could find all of that in one day !! :o :o

Great finds, as usual, Crusader. It leaves us here on the other side of the pond salivating. I think that the gaming piece you found is a chess piece. Congratulations!

Question: Next time you are out and about, would it be possible to snap some photos of the countryside?? I know that I'm curious about what the general area that you are finding all of these things looks like. :)

Yeap a Pawn probably.

is it a complete piece or is something snapped off on the top? It is similar to the bishop in my set, only missing the cross.

Its complete, remember is probably late Medieval.

Awesome finds. I love looking at your posts and dreaming of finding things that old.
