I found a brass token for Redwing Lounge in San Diego. There's a Redwing Bar and Grille on the same street, but, different block. Anyone know if it's the same business that moved and change their name? When did the move take place and when was the Lounge in business?

Mybe the two businesses have a historical connection with continuity of the ‘Redwing’ name after relocation) but, as said, the Redwing Bar & Grill (not the Redwing lounge) is on 4012 30th Street, San Diego (not 4116 30th Street).

The contributor ‘Coinshooter’ on ‘Token Catalog’ reported that the two addresses are "a few doors apart" and he visited them both. He was told by the owner at the 4116 address that it has been a hairdressing business called ‘Camille’s’ and at that address for 30 years. He judged the Bar & Grill at the 4012 address to be a “fairly new business.” Maybe it looks new, but it’s reported to have operated at that location since at least 1962.

The interweb says that a beer often cost 25 cents (or "two bits") during the 1960s to early 1970s for a single can or glass in many US bars.
Although the token says "Drinks" which could make it much older.

Yes, he and I have both found these tokens together at the same location.....which is nowhere near to the address. We still haven't been able to figure out when they were used or if the two businesses are related. The hairdresser didn't know and is currently no longer in business there. I guess I'll try to dig through some old San Diego business directories to see when the Lounge was listed.
