Well.....finally got a chance to get out to the farm. The road back was a bit dicey but thank goodness for 4WD. Hiked a few miles looking for shed antlers....no luck there....then went to my favorite creek. Good choice. These two points were found about 20 yards apart. Found the first one on my way upstream and found the second one on my way back downstream. Usually pays off to cover the same piece of creek bed from both directions....sometimes ya walk right by them in plain sight and find them on the second pass. The first point was just above the waterline although I didn't capture that in my insitu. The point is beveled on opposite edges and the material is very pretty. Also if you look its possible the contracting stem might have been bifurcate or may just be damaged to look that way?? The second point looks like it's had a rough couple thousand years even though I think it just came out of the ground recently. The last few pics are of the area I'm hunting....the mud bank in the second to last pic is where I found the second point....it had just come out of the mud and was at about eye level as I was standing in the creek bed. The last pic is a view downstream with the creek unseen but on the right edge of the frame just insided the woods. Might have been a camp in this little clearing years and years ago....I've found close to 20 artifacts in the creek within 50 yards of where I found these today.
