Todays find.

Went on a creek hunt this morning and found one decent point. Not sure on the type yet but here are a couple pics. This is my first time posting from my phone so bare with me.

It sure felt good to find it. Its my first whole point in a while. I've got a couple more to put up later that myself and mad.co.walker found on a field hunt earlier this week.

Jersey co is where that point came from. I've probably ran into you in the creeks before if you hunt alot in jersey county. Thats mainly where I hunt.

Unfortunately I wasn't anywhere near a creek today. Instead I was the idiot stumbling around in the soupy, muddy fields not finding anything. I hunt in Jersey Co only occassionally. I'll keep my out for you though. Again, that's a great point.

from what i can find in projectile point types.com, your very nice point may be a [scallorn]. closes point i can find in what i have to look in. let me know what you think,, is that point beveled it looks like it to me.... T.

Tmodel thanks for the reply and sorry it took me a while to get back to you i've been under the weather. The scallorn looks close to me. But the only information I could find on it was a single pic and all it said was it is found in oklahoma and texas. If that is right its out of my area by a good distance. I don't know if I mentioned that i'm hunting west central illinois. While I was doing some online searching I found a point that I was not familiar with called a Turin that is found in illinois and it looks kinda similar. Thanks for the input I'm gonna try to find more pics and info on the scallorn. I'll let you know what i find. Thanks again.

found a scallorn here in mid missouri, thats not that far
off from you. anyway as i said thats a nice one. good luck... JYD...

yes i knew you were in Illinois. what site were you looking on? the one i was on showed scallorn [8] states and only showed [1] shadow and [1] photo for all [8] states! there were only [2] states that showed scullorn and turin in same state,,Missouri and Illinois.. i think the turin is to heavy in the base, to high and to wide almost to the edge of the sholders.. i know what you mean by under the weather, just got home from the hospital, pasemaker implant, doing just fine. very nice point whatever we call it.... T.
