Hi all-- Hunted a field today (1873+ home site) that I've only hunted once before during the drought last summer.
It is difficult to get into this field since it is alfalfa and rarely cut for long. The home was gone by 1895 and signals are slim, so I was prepared to move to another site if things didn't pan out. Eventually had a steady 28/29 on the Explorer and hoped it was my overdue LC. Instead, a holed 1844 Bank of Montreal half penny token.
Then dug a nice green 1883 IH, in decent shape. Found my first heel plate, several cutlery pieces, a crushed thimble, handle of a child's gun, a complete lantern knob, piece of a clay pipe, and three buttons: one shell, one porcelain, and a round, two piecer.
Fun hunt and a gorgeous day!
