Sorry it’s been awhile. Remembering a house I had permission to metal detect, 5 years ago, ever wonder what's inside? A couple years ago I searched the attic and found a nice little hoard of glass!! I've always thought I missed something, and I did. The temp was about 12 above and there aren't any big black spiders jumping around up there. Cold and no spiders but there is a stack of old shutters in one corner .Buried down by the bottom where these pictures and frames!!! The first says litho but looks hand colored with a signature? Second has a cotton theme with one hidden water color behind it in the frame. The 3rd looks like a painting of a two wheeled cart with people gathering fire wood? The last is Lady charity . Any info would help! Think spring (5 weeks)=ED ps I'm afraid to touch anything and the pics are a little out of order, thanks

Man those are cool! Great find! I know NADA about art but I like em! Anything written on the back or maybe along the edges of the pictures themselves but under the frame?

Geez two feet of frost! I've got some woods cellar holes where there is enough snow and leaves insulating the ground that I could dig if the snow weren't quite so deep.

Every frame has the wide thin boards on the back. I did see some scribbling on one board, I think pic 2, sorry the pics order got messed up

The print of the man and women praying in the field is called --- " The Angelus " It represents a prayer that was said daily at noon in the Catholic faith The Angelus (painting) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It is very odd that you found your also in an attic We have the same print hanging in our mud room , We found it in the attic of an old farm house in Northern New York state when we lived there years ago I have no idea of the Financial value We prize ours while not being a religious people we find it very peaceful and focusing each time we pass it in the mud room hallway

To save some history is priceless. sorry its not metal.. Scouting new sites for spring on sled-ed

I believe the one with the bent-over figures is called " The Gleaners "............
By the way............we have four feet of frost in SE Iowa!!!:BangHead:

I'm not totally sure, but this one seems to strike a dim memory in my mind. I think it is called; The "Gleaners", or some variation of a once popular theme. Gleaners were the poor whom the land-owner allowed to go into the fields after harvest and pick up the wheat etc. that had fallen out of the wagons, or missed by the rakes. i.e.; they "gleaned" the left overs.

Very nice finds ! be sure to get some good light up there check every nook and cranny !
