Detector(s) used
Minelab Equinox 600 XP Deus
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Hunted my spot for a few hours after dinner and as I expected signals were very hard to come by. Only notables were a few early buttons including the larger nipple button. Ive only ever found two nipple buttons and both smaller and at other sites. Getting dark, I reluctantly headed for the boat but decided to do one more pass along the waters edge away from where the bulk of my finds have come. I get a sweet high tone that I cant believe Ive missed in the past. Out pops my first 1 real cob from this site:headbang: Any help with id/age appreciated but Im pretty sure its a Phillip V J assayer(1705-23)

On a side note, I have been using my Equinox 600 without headphones here. I have been rinsing the detector with freshwater after every use. This time the tones from the speaker were all muffled and terrible at first but after dunking the head, the problem went away. Not sure whats going on with that

OK Toasted. As Calabash would say, you starting to hurt people's feelings now with all those great finds. :laughing7: Keep it up!

Another killer hunt, congratulations! :icon_thumleft:

this is spoiling you for the lean times! but smile while you can and enjoy every second of it!

You ought make a thread w/ a representative photo cause wow, man, thats some impressive stuff. The cobs make us forget about the insane buckle finds. Not to mention you found a leather ornament that I have never even seen, let alone found. And it appears to be in fine shape to boot. Its time you wait it out in the truck and let someone else find some. lol

Good idea. I might just do that since I doubt Ill be back there at least until the weekend. Some of the stuff has been thrown into a mason jar full of colonial relics. Ill see what I can do

You are on an amazing site! Big congrats on all the old silver cobs and cut coins! It's hard to come by those often and you're on a roll! I hope the good fortune continues for ya!
