HI:hello:

Out again at low tide for 2 hrs. hunt.

Not much takings today, but on my final "stroll" towards the shoreline heading for home, I hit a nice mid-high tone target; what I dug up was a ring.... hideous on first sight...looked like corroded copper or rusted "something", and was about to put it in the trash....but then I noticed a pretty stone ( ? green turquoise) in the center , and some decorative styling on the sides, so I brought it home.:headbang:

Decided to electrolyze it , expecting nothing to come of it, but curious just the same.???

Nothing came of the electrolyzing :BangHead:, but undaunted, I decided to try some baking soda and ammonia soak on it....there was just "something " about this ring that wasn't "ringing true" :icon_scratch:

Wow! Was I surprised to see the finished product after some soaking and scrubbing.

Here's some pics

Thanks for looking at my finds

WOW lorraine!

Yep seen the happen in fresh water mud too.

Throw it out though ? no way :( I don't care if a ring looks
like it came out a bubble gum machine & a mower got it.
It still goes in my ring collection :laughing7:

Congrats on the Save :hello2:

Nice ring save Lorraine! I would have thought it was junk too at first glance. But like Jeff, even the junk rings get a place in the collection. Looks good cleaned up, and appears to be an old ring. Great work!

Amazing work again Lorraine..... Nice ring and work on cleaning it up.

nice ring for sure!

Beautiful! It's good to be tenacious!

I've never found a silver ring in a condition such as this one; all the older( as opposed to "freshly dropped ) silver rings that I have pulled from salt water and salt sand have had a gray-colored tarnish on them; this one looked like a rusted piece of metal...that's what confused me about this ring find.

That is one nice ring, to me it looks like it could have been made a long time ago, H.H.Capt !!!

Lorraine,
you should really think about opening a jewelry CLEANING business here on Treasurenet(I'm serious!!). The b4 and after pics of your finds are amazing. You really have a knack for restoring silver and gold.

Thank you , John

If I had the time, I would...but I'm too busy cleaning my own silver :laughing7:

When possible, I try my best to make my finds presentable for posting; I'm not always successful, but I try.

Lorraine
