I have hunted my area for over 30 years. Not much left to find. 80 years old. Had a couple of good finds last year that I sold on eBay.

Maybe I should sell my Confederate A button, but when I found it they said it was worth maybe $1000 ? So I don't know..

The fact that you have played out your known spots is only reason to learn modern research methods and travel a couple hours away. There are still old farming communities where folks are too busy working to play around with metal detectors.

Unless of course you’re thinking of retiring from detecting because of those good sales.
