When turning over stones here in CA, you will find LOTS of these buggers. For the uninformed, it is a scorpion. The body is about an inch long. Neat little guy. BTW, he lived through our encounter. TTC

glad you survived too. one more reason to wear gloves. of course I wouldn't want to ruin my perfect nails !

that is why my wife does not md she refuses to wear gloves because of her nails but she loves to get dirty planting flowers then spends a hour cleaning her nails

That's something we don't encounter here in Minnesota. Is it worse than a bee sting?

I hate those things, TerryC. I stayed in a cabin at Quartz Mtn. when I was working down there and you couldn't let anything touch the floor. You had to check your shoes and check the bed before you got in. One night I took a shower and that rascal was in my towel and hit me three times in the chest. I started to stomp on him but remembered I was barefooted and ran and got my boots on. It hurt like everything, but apparently I wasn't allergic to them as I woke up in the morning and went to work.

I guess I;d be in trouble if I lived out there, because looking at the pic and even knowing there is a scorpion there somewhere, I still can't see it...bet I;d feel it though...

heck that little guy its only about 10x a wasp sting,lol. thses guys i'm worried about.
