Took the day off work and went hunting......Starky joined me for the day. We hit two old farm houses. Farm #1 the owner told me it had been hunted by at least 3 different people, go figure. Anyhow I scored a 1917 merc and a couple wheats, and a ton of shotgun shells, Starky got several wheats not much else there. After 3 hours we went to another farm house, same thing, I was told this place had been hunted as well. Got a wheat right off the bat, then I got a real scratchy high tone and I cut the plug, first thing out of the hole was a rusty clothes pin clip. Right under that was a 1944 merc......cool

Nailed one more wheat then that was about it in the front, went to the side yard and got a 8" deep 08-36, I called out that it was an indian before I even cut the plug, sure enough, but not just any indian, an awesome semi key almost full liberty 1864L
this thing is beautiful! Pics don't do it justice, you can CLEARLY see the "L" with the naked eye..... got a couple buckles and that was it for me. Starky got a couple wheats and a trade token.

From there we hit a ballfield and there was tons of clad but it was all deep! FILL dirt!!!! Starky got a 1940's wheat at 9" so you know for sure there was fill.....eventually he got a silver a 1944 quarter. I dug over $4 in clad but no oldies, did manage to get the smiley face sterling ring....hey silver is silver!

We hit one last ballfield and the VERY first signal I got was a 5" deep 12-44, I figured it was a clad dime, but nope! it was a 1944 merc. From there it was all downhill, nothing but clad! It was a fun day, and much better than working...lol
I got a video from today not sure when I will get it all done!
