Might as well add my 2 cents.
I think both shows are pretty bad. That being said I do have them recording on my DVR and will have them on while I surf T-net and other sites some evenings. Both are kind of train wrecks so I guess I watch them for that.
1) The Rick Savage show is downright terrible, he always negotiates a tough 75-25 split and has to make some money or he is going broke. Then he digs crap like an old car air filter out from under some cement and it is filled with silver and gold coins. Pretty pathetic - I do watch it for the stupidity.
2) The digger guys act like a couple of fools with thier stupid lingo - "I got civ" or "another tok in the poc" and other annoying stuff. They hop around like idiots when they find something. Then they always have a stupid bet/challenge. I guess they are trying to make it entertaining but it is rather dumb. I also like their potential value of stuff, they dug a 1917 wheat the other day and list it as $4 value. Maybe if was MS-60 not all encrusted in dirt, also saw a common V nickle one show potential value $275 instead of the $1 they might get. Still a better show than the rastler, but that's not saying much.
I agree with some who mentioned earlier if you don't like don't watch it. TV is filled with all kinds of reality/schlock anyways- always has been. I used to watch "In search of" as a kid in 70's and thought it was great.
Can't wait for the ground to thaw so I can spend sometime dirtfishing instead of watching some nimrods do it.
