I Have heard a lot of complaints about this show, and i agree its a disgrace to our hobby, but sending an email to spike tv isnt going to stop it. You have to send an email to the sponsers of the show, you know the ones who pay for commercials. If everyone did that then it will get pulled quick.

Lather ? No ... It just a total misrepresentation of the hobby 99% of us participate in . I stopped watching it , period.

I think every one works them selves up to a lather ..over nothing.

Hey Pete ... So you can't believe that Detroit show either ... cause that's the one that stopped me from watching it even for the stupidity of it . And I think it was a automatic tork converter and not a air filter . How about the one where they dug a revolver buried for over 120 years that the cylinder still spun and the trigger still pulled back . I hontest watched it three times and couldn't watch it till the end ... yes it's totally lame and a obvious jerk of our chains ... I'm glad to see that common sense still prevails for some of us ! I have unfortunately had the pleasure of spending plenty of time in Detroit, so that show was extra interesting to me. Sadly they could have probably bought 20 lots for $50 each and did whatever they wanted instead of asking permission.

If it is possible that show got even worse, I saw the other day now it is Savage Family diggers, I guess he fired the other guys in his crew and now his scary looking wife and other kid go with him now.

As far as these shows causing harm to the hobby, I would think it is minimal, because most that believe these shows aren't exactly the best and brightest. Because it takes time, effort and money to get into the hobby and they are probaby lacking in the last two categories, at worst they may buy a cheap detector at Walmart, go dig up a local park once, get tired of the work involved and put the thing in garage, never to be used again.
