PeteyGirl and I visited a Hohokum village north of Tucson. It is in the Catalina State Park.

This is a desert but it is very much alive. There is a 1/4 inch scorpion on the rock.

It is called the Romero Ruins because a fellow named Romero built a ranch in the same place. This is one of the remaining buildings.DSC00138.webp DSC00139.webp

The village was surrounded by a wall. This is the best part remaining.

PeteyGirl stands on the trash dump and I next to a rather "busy" saguaro

They also have riding trails but these were taken today... added just for fun!

This is the first extended ride that I've ever done. To tell you true, this horse is well trained and made me look good. I was not aware that much of the turning and stopping and backing is done with entire body movements. Only funny part was the saddle came around with me at dismount. I'm ok, though. ╦╦Ç

That Saguaro, looks to be just about as old as you are!

There are numerous signs saying stay on the trail. This guy is not on a trail yet he has acquired a trail of his own over the years. Damn tourists! (Hey, that's ME!) ╦╦Ç

Thanks for sharing your adventures! Great pics.
