looks like a replacement tooth for an excavator shovel

It kinda does but the problem with that is the area I was in didn't have anything like that in the area ever

It does look like something slid into it, and on the other hand it appears to be a complete unit. It's not snapped off of anything or broke

Ps. It took a long time with a hammer and screwdriver to get all the stuff out the middle. So I highly doubt it's modern.
