So my new driveway got installed 2 weeks ago, bummer that I wasn't home to supervise the project...naturally the workers tore my internet line to shreds.:BangHead:
So this morning, Centurylink stops by to do the final repair and reburied the line...dude digs out a trench along my side yard, about a foot deep. Naturally, I HAVE to scan the dirt piles, to my surprise, this little old girl says to me, "Dave, no place is ever hunted out!"
1920!:headbang:....back is too smooth to ID a mintmark.

in your own yard no less! Yep, no place is ever truly hunted out (unless its dug out and sifted). Congrats on the silver!

Nice recovery Dave!

Sweet, almost as good as a street tear out right Dave :dontknow: . My 1st LC came from when they dug a trench to run a gas line on a local school owned lot. The LC was in an area where the gravel used to be compacted and about a foot think, but after the dirt was put back in the trench, the coin was now 4 inches deep and not under compacted gravel. Glad to see you eke out that merc.

I like how she talks to you, bahabahaaaaa

I wonder if she has a sister out there left behind.

You have never hunted your own yard??????? Wow.

No, that's the thing....I've beat the snot out of my yard!
The Bounty Hunter found most of the goods, about 8 years ago.... The AT Pro squeezed out a deep Barber, and all the scrap and a junk have been meticulously removed.
This chic had to be deep, and on her side, next to the cement pad step that's loaded with rebar....
Conversation all day with my Bride has been my trying to get a Nel Sharpshooter....go big, go deep, or go home, right?

I suggest we rent a dozer and remove all the dirt slowly. We can sift it and then relay sod later. Hey I am curious about what your hiding under there.

I've considered it!:headbang:

What a great story- you just never know where treasure's gonna pop up- Congrats!

I am a landscaper/ designer. It can be arranged.......

Well done buddy. I've learned a few things in this hobby. Perhaps the most important is to NEVER miss an opportunity when it presents itself. It may never present itself again. If a body of water is abnormally low, if dirt is dug up, if it's a warm winter, if a storm destroys the shore....go hunt it!

Wise words from a Steeler fan....
