That’s a ‘Yixing-ware’ clay teapot with silver overlay. The mark on the bottom isn’t a period mark, but will likely be the mark of the potter or the factory he worked from. I don’t immediately recognise it, but will look a little more deeply when I have a moment.

However, I’m pretty sure it’s not ancient and it doesn’t look like a top quality piece. Yixing-ware experienced a revival in the 1950s and most of the pieces you see will date from around that time. Although still collectable (especially if from a leading artist), I would say it’s not particularly valuable and, in any case, whatever value it has will be seriously reduced if you don’t have the lid.

I should have clarified that the metallic overlay on Yixing-ware is referred to as 'silver' for its appearance... not its bullion content. Often it was a Chinese alloy known as paktong or baitong (白銅) ("white copper" or cupronickel) or something similar.
