I purchased this ring while working (US military contractor) in Jalalabad Afaghanistan around 2007. Purchase was made at Jalalabad airport during a bazaar from a local resident, Appears to be carved from a green stone. I also purchased some coins. I would like to know more about the rings origin. Any information or direction to follow would be deeply appreciated.

Not sure if I did the attachments correctly.

It looks to be of Hindu origins, possibly Shiva.

Could we see a pic of the front of the face? I'm also thinking it might be a depiction of Buddha.

Muslims have a tradition of looting and destroying graveyards of non-muslims in areas of conflict. I saw similar grave goods on sale in Northern Cyprus by street sellers. Most shopkeepers would not sell them from their shops because the authorities had banned the trade. You could well have an antiquity there. The coins will be interesting as well.

Might be way off track but I was thinking napkin ring or from a curtain rod.
