(3) On the next segment of the road, we found : 10 iron arrowheads of different typologies, harness iron buckle, lead ring, iron nails of different sizes, iron hobnails from the sole of roman sandal-boots (caligae), projectile (ball) lead, iron knife blades, 2 bronze rings possible from the Roman harness equipment, iron tool, four-sided iron spearhead with engraved bronze bottom. The spearhead is something I have not seen before, even by the fact that it combines the steel from the active side with the bronze alloy that composes the body of the spear. The ornament is special, "evil-eye" and geometric shapes. Even the lower part seems mysterious, as the method of fixation on a wooden handle I guess...I suppose it may be the tip of a roman pilum, a rare typology...The last artifact I think is a Dacian battle scythe, 2nd-1st centuries BC. It is made of a very good quality steel, with the inside (the active one) still sharp. This lower part of the object is made by the blacksmith on the edges, cuts, so as not to move, to be fixed on the wood support as efficiently as possible. We know that the populations of the Dacian tribes and others used in ancient times iron scythe and sickle, with wooden tail for both hands, such as the falx, as very dangerous fighting weapons.
Enjoy ! :hello:

You stumbled across a fantastic site there. The decorated spear tip is something i've never seen before. Just wow!
