Andy Jackson (My first)

[johnnycat]

Hit one of the local parks today for about an hour with my Vaquero. I hit:

1. 12 pennies
2. 6 dimes
3. 2 nickels
4. 2 quarters

I found the A. Jackson $1 coin under a light cover of dead grass down about 1/2" . It was sure a nice surprise and it's my first one ever.

Congrats on the dollar coin...I have not found any of the new dollars.

Your Andy Jackson title did jump out at me. I just found today at lunch time a Hard Times Token which was issued during Jackson's administration. This was a first for me and although I've heard the term hard times token before I never knew what they were until I found one. They are large cents issued by merchants and used as an unofficial currency. I'll try to post it in the next few days.

Happy hunting
