I went back to the beach that I found my first gold ring. Unfortunately, I didn't find any jewelry today at all. I did, however, find twelve wheat pennies. When I started finding them, I immediately thought that there MUST be silver nearby. Thank goodness I was right! I was VERY happy to find my first semi-silver "war nickel" - a 1943-P! I also found a 1924-S Mercury Dime and a 1960-D Roosevelt Dime. (The Mercury dime was my oldest USA silver coin, to date!) I cleaned them all up a bit, to make them more presentable. (And please don't tell me how I've destroyed the numismatic value of the coins - I dug them from a beach after several decades of rolling about in the surf. I'm happy just to have them!) Thanks for looking at my post!
