OK. So, I see the weather today is probably going to be a last day of decent weather
for quite some time. Yes, even here, ole man winter does have to come a callin'. :dontknow:

So, where should I try to make a "last" stand? I've covered all the types of hunts I do except the
beach and I'm not going to do that until it's much warmer.

I thought and then said, why not start over? :)

So, chose a school ground that I and MANY others have frequented many, many times. What
better place to see if what I'm doing is really working. I figured to have a clad day with the
possibility of some bling thrown in, but, how would you feel if your day started this way?

2016 (75).jpg
See where the Propointer is? That is someone else's hole.
It wasn't put back bad, I just uncovered it when I started digging.
My plug is in the foreground. Can you see what's in it?

2016 (76).jpg

All clad, but.....I mean!!! LOLOL I also found another penny
deeper in the original hole too. Someone felt it was beneath them
to dig the lowly penny!?!? Well, just remember that for a bit.

Anyway, the next hole I didn't bother to catch in situ cuz it was just bling.
But, I took about three steps and got the following:

2016 (68).jpg
2016 (69).jpg

As you'll see later, it is the mate to the first one!
Not a usual happenstance. :)

Anyway, A little later on I got this semi-penny hit and was about to skip over.
Then, I remembered the other "penny" hole.

I dug:

2016 (71).jpg

Next I found this wonderful lil toy metal airplane.
When it first came out, the wing was missing. But,
I was very happy at even having half! Still, I started
to push the pinpointer back in the hole and I was saying to
myself. Please? Please? Please?
And there it was!! The other wing! I can now repair it!

2016 (78).jpg

I don't know how old but it was my favorite find of the day!

At least, it was.....until this next lil thing unfolded:

2016 (72).jpg
2016 (73).jpg
2016 (74).jpg

Ain't life GRAND!!!?!? LOL

2016 (77).jpg

What a day!!!

2016 (79).jpg

The necklace is silver.

2016 (80).jpg
2016 (81).jpg
2016 (82).jpg

There's those two earrings. :)

2016 (84).jpg

Fishy's ecstatic! ;)

2016 (83).jpg

Oh yeah, there were a few clad coins along the way. :)

2016 (85).jpg
*********** The "star" of the show!**********

2016 (86).jpg

Alas, poor Blingie! :(

For you see, the ring? It's real! :)
22kt gold, with 25 diamonds. Possibly a very old piece.

Not too bad for a four hour hunt, even if I do say so myself. :)

If you made it this far, thanks for being patient with a VERY happy WIF!

Nice finds and that fact that a location has been detected by others means nothing to me cause most detectorists arent as obsessed as we are.

That's right! I forgot! We have a toy expert right here! This little plane brought a huge smile when I first saw it come out. But, it's in such good condition I just kind of figured it was a newer knock-off version. Can you tell anything more by these markings?

Finding a "diamond ring" is one of those ultimate goals of every detectorist. But, finding that plane was really my highlight of the day.
I never considered that somebody might have lost what was already an heirloom. :)

By the by, the ring? For any wondering? 22kt gold, with 25 diamonds. Possibly a very old piece.

WTG Whadi, :occasion14: you sure packed a lot of fun in a 4 hour hunt. Awesome score on the gold & silver. I dug one of those Goonie Birds last April.
