Hello all,
I got a chance to get out for a bit today to the same fort my buddy and I hunted last Monday. I was by myself today because my hunting buddy's wife had car trouble and he told me to go without him. He said he would meet me there later if he got the chance. Anyway, the finds came in rather quickly and within an hour I had a heavy pocket full of lead! Most were fired .69 caliber round balls, but I did manage to find three fired .58 caliber Minies and one fired .69 caliber Minie (my first one!). I also got a couple other firsts; a heavily gilded cuff link, a pocket knife with a brass shield, and a .32 caliber Teat-Fire cartridge!! Finds for the day include over 50 bullets (most fired), the pocket knife, cuff link, Teat-Fire cartridge, and the small gold ball piece (?). Unfortunately I didn't find any buttons or plates today, but it was a good day none the less. We are going back tomorrow, so I will try to take a video while we are there. Wish me luck!
