The 56th Psalm, written by King David after he had been captured by the Philistines in Gath comes to my mind. Particularly the phrase he records at verse 4 where he says. "In God?whose word I praise? In God I put my trust; I am not afraid. What can mere man do to me?" as well as verse 11 where he says, "In God I put my trust; I am not afraid. What can a mere human do to me?"
In that chapter, you may also find interesting what David said in verse 8. "You keep track of my wandering. Do collect my tears in your skin bottle. Are they not recorded in your book?"
David was not only a musician, a warrior, and a King, he was as well the father of wise King Solomon -- but he was also a man of great faith, one who also made mistakes. Yet he knew who had his back in every situation. Take for example the 23rd Psalm. David wrote that. In verse 4 he said, "Though I walk in the valley of deep shadow, I fear no harm, For you are with me; Your rod and your staff reassure (or "comfort") me."
As with a shepherd's staff, God's staff provided guidance keeping him safe which comforted him.
