scooted around town picking up dimes today. hit four banks, got three boxes. one of my pickup banks told me i was moving more coin than most of their commercial accounts therefore....*sigh*....they'd have to start charging me a "per box" fee. she went on to say that she personally didn't want to but that the order came from higher up....yada yada yada yada. nah....thanks anyway, ma'am. dang the bad luck! i hate losing a good pickup bank. oh well. went to another branch of the same banking company. glad i did. turned out to be the best box i've ever gotten!

all fed rolled dimes. no handrolls.

first box one rosie.

second box one rosie.

third box....woooooohooooooo!!! twelve rosies and five mercs. one roll had 5 bling! two side by side! both '44 mercs! what are the odds of that? in a fed roll? c'mon. maybe you've seen it before but it was a first for me! i was fairly pumped.

ended up with eight 64's, two '62's, two '52's, one '51, one '50 rosie, two '44 mercs, two '42 mercs and one '20 nmm merc that filled a hole in my merc book.

not a bad dimes day for old fiddy.

hope all you guys had a good thanksgiving and that you all have a wonderful christmas.

Nice box!
Congrats!

Congrats. Most I ever got out of a dime box was 6. I went and bought a cheap Rosie folder and put in the best dressed for the occasion the other night- didn't do too bad only need 13 to finish it, course I've only needed 2 for my Franklin book for most of this year. I took some pics. HH Mark

Good goin fiddycent, that's what I like about dimes, the variety and quantity that boxes can sometimes hold. It's like playin the lottery.
Thats why I search dimes. Never know what yer gonna get. Have you pulled any Barbers yet? If you keep hitting the boxes, the chances are good.

yeah...i've found one barber early on. it's a 1914 with some severe wear but hey...i got it locked up now so it's safe from further damage! with any luck i'll find a better one. i'm still looking! the thing that amazes me is that we are still finding these older coins. consider that the barber is a hundred year old coin (give or take a few years) and how heavily dimes are used in everyday transactions. it astounds me that there are still old mercs, barbers and hey....even seated liberties are in the mix. i've got a seated liberty half dollar AND a seated liberty dime. now to find a capped bust!

the search continues! good luck in yours!
