Was hunting the same park that I have been pulling all the large cents out of today with another tnet'r. I was able to pull a childs ring, 4 clad dimes and a 23 mm coin at 9 inches. no detail so I do not know if it is a half cent or a two cent piece. Most likely a half cent since the date of the area seems later. The childs ring was way deep to but it was plated. Did they plate rings way back then? Enjoy the pics.

I'm thinking half cent also. Most of the 2 centers I see posted don't seem to be corroded to that degree. Maybe it's because they're bronze. Nice finds.

Good question on the plating. I was thinking mid 1800's. Not positive on that. Congrat on all the finds.

Hit the same area again this morning pulled another large cent and a couple wheat penny's. It is really weird that I can find stuff from early 1800s but nothing from 1850s to 1930s. Liek the area had no people for those 70 years. I hope to find something cool tonight when I go back.
