I love this video! If you have never dug a privy, you have missed out on a great time.
Privy digging is a close as any of us will come to real "treasure hunting." The treasures we find, are not only the artifacts, but the friends we make in digging them out.
This privy, for me, encompassed not only great finds, but sharing the excitement with close friends and family.
We all had a blast on this one. The privy was easy to locate, and to dig. You can see in this video, that everyone was having a blast.
Sure, there was work to be done on this one. But the fun of digging it, with my privy mentor Victor, and my favorite Uncle, far outweighed anything that we found.
Carl Wallace, who owned the property, was also my employee at Moultrie Tavern 1862. He was a hell of a guy, and I will never forget him.
My Uncle Arnold, who is now in his late seventies, was a hoot! He is in my thoughts and prayers.
