A few feet away in left field from the spot where I found a 14K ring on Tuesday, I got a nice 82 on the XLT. This almost always means silver dime, and when the depth came up at 4.5" that clinched it. I only had to dig and see what my field was going to cough up. As it turned out, it was this 1945 Merc, giving me two silver dimes and the ring in a heavily hunted area. I'm being thorough, pulling a string from a fence post in left to the back of the infield. There are three passes in every section of fence; today I managed four while waiting for the kids' bus. Miss halfdime got off the bus and lamented how many times she's been in that outfield and all this time there was silver and gold under her feet. That's not really lamentable; what would be sad is if I left it there! By the way, I sold Tuesday's ring for $108; not a bad payoff for an hour's work!
