Back in slump, I have been getting permissions for old home sites, they just seem to be hunted out, still have to make it back to 1740 home. But other 1700 home was empty, garbage, trash, and old dog bowel. Ha
Today I got permission from nice older lady and found this bell/thimble whatsit with glass jewels in it and a 1956 D wheatie ? The home was probably early 1900's, just a sandstone fireplace. I'll be hitting the beaches when it gets a little warmer ocean temps. Enjoy the pix, HH

The owner came out to give me a cold bottle of water and I showed her and her daughter the item, they both felt it was a bell. It is very heavy for a costume jewelry earring. Whatever it is it was meant to be costume jewelry. I always love these kind of finds as much as some of the silver coins. Guess I love a good mystery?
Thanks old dude!

Oh yeah, she also told me her husband had a detector and had done there yard many times, so my suspicions were right.
