This one is called "Project Skydrop". Dude hid a statue made of 10 troy ounces of 24k gold in the NE United States. Also included in the haul is a yet to be determined amount of bitcoin. Completely different backstory and vibe compared to the Fenn treasure hunt. But if you're into it, below are two links. The first is a link to a Wired article about the treasure hunt. The second is a link to the official Project Skydrop site:

Gold Treasure Worth a Fortune Was Hidden in a Forest. Let the Hunt Begin
Project Skydrop

There’s only a couple of weeks left and I bet it will be at least next week before it is narrowed down enough to be found, so there’s still time. I wish I lived in that area!

I guess Neb, Mi, Arkansas, Cal, Florida.
According to their website, it's in the western half of Massachusetts, in a (currently) 27 mile diameter circle, centered just south of Greenfield, MA. The circle shrinks each day, and since the entirety of the circle is in Massachusetts I think it's safe to say so is the treasure. $20 to join the treasure hunt and have access to the clues, so I'm out. But how cool would it be for someone to pay the $20 on the last day and scoop the people who have been working on it for weeks!

No Thanks !!
I will let the younger people search for it

I don't care what it looks like Gold is Gold
Is it? 🤨
Is that why gold coins are worth many times their weight in gold? 🤔
Is that why so many here have lamented the design of older coins over those minted today? 🤔

You can melt it down if you like; I'll take the gold that's worth more than just specie. 😉

Thanks for sharing this. I was kind of hoping to see an “Its a mad mad mad mad world” style ending. 😬
There's always the next hunt! 😁

The MD club I joined has a seeded hunt at their picnic every year. It was kind of like that. We won't participate in a seeded hunt again.

There were a lot of animals that walked right by that "trophy" in the time lapse. What a hoot if a fox or something was caught on camera carrying off their $26,000 trophy...
