2009_0908stainwalnut0001.webp2009_0908stainwalnut0002.webpFound in the backyard of a house that was built towards 6the end of the 1800's here in PA. Initially I thought it was part of a necklace because of the loop at the top, but it is quite long and heavy. Any ideas on use and age? The patina makes it look fairly old, I over zealously snapped off a small piece that had been back.:BangHead:2009_0908stainwalnut0003.webp

Pull handle for for antique lamp, drapery, or blinds? Very cool, Sub 8-)

The 'open face roses' as well as the general leaf pattern tells me it is Victorian. How many inches long is it? Are you sure it is copper and not brass?

Neat find :)

I didn't ever get my answers, so I'm going to say what I thought the first time I saw it: I think it's a Victorian brass 'bell pull.'

Hi Breezie -sorry about the delay. It's 5 inches long. I read somewhere that aged brass turns pinkish -this has a deep green patina, even on the bend. Very interesting -thanks for all the suggestions!

You're welcome. The patina on aged brass, especially coming out of the ground is green.
Neat find :)
