No authority. I won't swear this is Shang , but note the mouth/face vs other dynasties. You might find something closer than my lazy butt!
Ìt looks pretty rounded off to be a square nail and to mount to anything if it was a nail type mount you would risk wrecking the hook pounding it in.I could agree except for the square nail mount.
I'm sure that is not a nail but rather a screw that has rusted to the point of just barely seeing the old thread pattern.....yes a decorative hook of sorts
