I still have yet to get to the spot I REALLY want to search, but this area is on that is close to my house that has yielded some things in the past and I wanted to see if the experts had any more input on where else to look. Nothing specific that I'm looking for, although a nice coin cache would be sweet, but any input would be great. Thanks!

Me to...Having trouble with the Indians again..Art

No worries or rush guys....I appreciate it. Still outta the country right now anyway and won't be back for another 2 weeks or so.

Red circles for loose surface (unless in water) coins/treasure or artifacts of value, 2 ft or less deep. Green circles for archaeological type signals.

Orange X with line around, either deeper loose targets or perhaps something is/was buried there. I would look first to see if any sign of digging, might be just an old site or camp, maybe even fishing spot where stuff got lost. Blue for silver.

WOW, Thanks Red and aarthjr3811! The area where you have the orange X and where aarth3811 wants a close up view is a Boy Scout camping ground. It is on Military land and even though it is the base I was stationed at, I doubt they will take to kindly to me swinging in that area. Can't hurt to ask though! The line you see crossing the water is a suspended pipe that marks the boundaries of the base. My friend's property is the spit of land to the west of that line. I'll post some other overheads with some markers on it if that helps any. This gives me a start on some of the other areas there I wanted to look at. LOTS of trash and old iron signals on the property and have a few items I have pulled from there. Best being what I ASSUME is a musket ball but will have to wait till I'm home to post the pictures. I'll be hitting this soon after I return! Thanks again for you two and your help!

Here is a better break down of what is on my friend's property:

aarthjr3811,
Here is a close up of the area you were asking about. This area is currently used as a Boy Scout Camp. Don't know if I can get permission to hunt there but I will certainly ask and see what happens!

There is a metal box buried 2 foot deep with Silver Coins..there is a tree with some kind of boat or ship part hanging above it..Have fun and enjoy our hobby...Art

The reason I used orange in the area with the lines around X, was picking up a gold signal about 4-5 ft deep. Then checking for silver, got a hit to the right of it, seemed around the same depth (now marked with blue circle/X). Hard to say what is really down there. Couldn't get any definite response when asking about specific types of gold targets. This is when I decided it could be loose deep stuff. Other marked spots 1-2 ft or less,, the circles, blue for silver and orange a gold hit. A blue line between 2 blue circles, must be a long piece of something metallic.

Thanks again guys! I'll be hitting my friend's property and hopefully the other as well if allowed! (once I get back home and outta the sandbox!) Now if I can just get a new detector for Christmas! Please Santa.......AT Pro would be nice!

I will also provide pictures, mark any finds with GPS, and overlay them on Google Earth so you can see how it all came out!

Thanks Teleprospector! Hoping to be able to get over to that side of the spit of land but it is on the local military base here so I'll have to make sure that I can get permission first! Did some detecting on my buddy's land adjacent to it and found these:

Sorry the picture isn't that good, will take another but it isn't much. The 2 .45 cal bullets were both found at the base of a an old rotted tree, may have been used as a back stop at one point for a target? (need to search the tree itself for old holes and slugs) where the orange circle is. The bigger rusted piece looks like a part to an old rifle magazine (has a raised concentric circle pattern on the bottom, looks like a bullseye) but not sure what caliber. Could be the base plate where the spring sat. Not sure though. This was found at the red circle. The other two pieces, an old staple and some rusted item (old nail?) were found up closer to the fenceline. I looked in the areas others have indicated but haven't found much else. The ground is a layer of thin soil (1 inch or so) made up of decomposed leaves and ALOT of small, strong roots.....a bit of a pain in the ass to be sure! Some areas are still tough to detect in as there is still some overgrowth and sticker bushes (stinging nettles) that burn real nice when they take a swipe across your skin! Under all that is just sand with more roots.

I will be hitting this place again once I get my new (used) minelab sovereign GT set up and can better discriminate out all the iron trash I find up there. Have found (I believe) a musket ball there a few months back. (penny is for size)

Can't remember where exactly this was but it was between the 2 fencelines.
Hoping to find some of the gold and silver that you guys say may be there. I have higher hopes with the GT over my bounty hunter 505!
