ok I am pumped up again today, indian pennies are my absolute favorite coin and today I found my oldest so far. Just friday I broke my record for my oldest US coin when I found that 1882 seated dime,

now today I broke my record again by finding an 1865 indian penny. It is rough and even bent a little, but I don't care. I am still smiling !! ;D

I also got a 1944 mercury dime, a cool toy badge, and some clad. Another great hunt with my new X-70, loving this machine more everytime I use it.

Nice assortment G4E!!! What coin are you using with the x-70 and what were your settings... I got one too but I dig so much trash that I'm starting to get a little frustrating. I've had my best luck with the stock coil, threshold @ 3 and sensitivity @ 28. I'm using the 10.5" DD now and that's a bugger to pinpoint with.

I always hunt in all metal, threshold @ 3, sensitivity 20-22, stock coil, target stability on, tracking off

Very nice job on the indian head penny! Congratulations on the badge! :)

Thanks for the tips... I have yet to try (I totally forgot about target stability) your settings but I will give it a go next time out.

with sensitivity any much higher I got falsing, and I am sure that will vary from each site. The one that I did do was if I got a real deep signal and could not get a good solid VDI, I would bump up sensitivity to like 25 and sweep over that target again, most times after I did that it said it was iron. Then I reduced it back to 20-21 and resumed hunting

Great finds, keep them coming!!
