Giving Modern Miner and I total permission to hunt this property!!!!
I called the owner back and he's really cool. The house was built in 1861. ;)

Yep I can hear you two now on the way there humming the Cambell's soup theme song, "MMM Good, MMM Good, thats what a Plantation is, MMM MMM Good."

She's still lived in too, that means you'll have the pleasure to detecting treasures of all kinds.

I can hardly wait to see what you two pull out of that little piece of history.

Keeping my fingers crossed for ya!

Wow!! Good luck guys, that looks like a dream site!!Hope you get lots of goodies!!!Bootstrap

Kewl hunting site ... Wishing you and MM the best of luck with that fine looking spot ... looking forward to the stories and pics!

Looks like a great spot to spend a couple of days at!!
Good luck!

Looks like that is going to be a great place to hunt. All the old houses I've been finding have been really overgrown with tall grass, bushes and in some cases you can hardly see the house anymore! Can't wait to see the good stuff you are going to find there. Keep us posted.

MM,
The owner told me his son found one of them "big pennies" in the tobacco field, just layin' on the ground after they tilled it. ;)

:o Oh boy that sounds like fun. Keep us posted on how it all turns out.

Looks like a great place!

Good luck-even though you won't need it!

Have fun,
Salvager

Best of all Ridley...just take a look at that lawn area...THAT my friends is old original, unsodded, non-fertilized, non-landscaped DIRT!!
Judging by the sparse grass cover I would bet that it's on the hard side too, leading to shallow coin depth.

Go get 'em!

That should be fun.

I checked the lawn area and it was suspiciously clean of any targets. It turns out, the place had been detected 20 years ago. Not only that. There were fresh dig marks from maybe a month ago.

I did however find a few areas that contained a lot of relics. I was psychologically prepared for this as it has happened to me 3 times before already.

The property has many areas and there may be a surprise or two, but the simple fact is, someone got there first. Oh well.

NOW YOU KNOW that no place is completely hunted out. So someone else got there before you. So what? I bet there are still some goodies out there just waiting for you to find them. Keep looking.

Tune that new DFX for deep targets and get what they missed.
