Anthracite? I found on NC beach after Hurricane Matthew.

The closest that I have come to identifying this black, shiny, rock appears to be anthracite. It's pretty solid, very metalic in appearance, appears metamorphic.

Can anyone confirm? I have additional pictures if needed. Thank-you in advance.

You are correct, anthracite is a metamorphosed coal and that's certainly what that appears to be. If you have a piece of white porcelain (non-glazed) you could do a streak test to confirm. Anthracite should streak black.
