Antigua Metal detecting??

soon im traveling to antigua....
am i allowed to bring my metal detector with me and check it in?
will the airport have any problems?
And is there any hardcases under 80 Bucks?
i cant find any whats affordable...

Are you going to Sandals? I'd leave the detector at home.

If not, the government there has a no remove policy and I think it covers everything on dry land and under the water too.

I brought mine to Sandals in Antigua and they were very nice about it. No problems other than staying on the bottom!
Have fun.
Customs was no prob either. Except they took my RUM!!

i bought a hardcase for a golf bag at Spots Authority a while back for around that amount. i can put 2 detectors in there, scoops, and just throw a few towels in there to keep everything from rattling around.

Again, customs was fine on both ends, they knew it was a MD and while they did take it out in the US, there was no delay. Don't pass up the opportunity and sit there on the beach wondering, "what if"
When you get there just let them know you look for old coins and to whom do you turn in anything of value??
Just don't find anything

You should not have any problem detecting on Antigua. I never did.
