Hello, folks, it is KirkPA from Pennsylvania. :D The weatha here in Central PA is brutal...brutal, folks. The low temps have been getting down to the teens at night, so the ground will be freezing up. But, that ain't a gurna stop BDD from relic hunting. Indubitably, bros, we will probably be chiseling at the hard ground again. :D

Last week, I had an hour to waste before Stacia and I were going to go shopping, but I didn't waste it, so I hit a super old park. :D I decided to focus on those high VDIs only, such of those that could give up Ag coins, possible Cu coins, and the occasional Fe. :D Yup, I discriminated those Au signals and concentrated on the Ag signals, so I could show my skills off. I wanted to be just like my good bud, Captn_SE (The True Wilver King). :D

I got a somewhat jumpy, somewhat crackling, and somewhat decent signal on my Pro XL, so I decided to dig. After plucking out about 6 inches of soil (I didn't check my plug 1st, since I knew the relic was deep), I found a nice wilver ring. This wasn't the ordinary wilver ring, it was a wilver spoon ring. It is marked, "WMA Rogers." Indeed, ring dudes, it is an antique (1850-1899). Oh well, even though I am not a ring dude, I kept it. :D I am taking credit for 1850. :D

*Note: the picture is there for size comparsion. :D Oh, zoy is the one with the big smile. :D ;D This picture was taken in 1991...future treasure hunters of Central PA...future Bone Dry Detecting members...future Tnet members...future coppa dudes...future instigators. :D

BDD...Kirk

P.S. The picture did not give off a VDI number. As stated before, it is there for size comparsion. :D

Nice silver ring find.
Those spoon rings have a lot of character.

I have a question for you... Where did you come up with the nicknaming of wilver for silver?
Are you just being silly or is there a deeper meaning? I have seen other Tnet members using wilver in place of silver also.
Just curious.
Thanks!
Rob

:P Nice ring Kirk and you know the old saying...Wilver is wilver..... ;D
Hope the weather holds off a while longer for you guys.. HH

Cool find! Any wilver is cool, even if it isn't mint(ed).

Damn! Kirk detecting in a park, that's like Santa at a Menorah lighting ceremony.

Great finds & looks like you can find goodies anywhere you decide to detect...

Thanks, bud, usually, if I have an hour or two to spend, I will sometimes hit this park. It has given up a lot of oldies in the past few trips. I have only detected this place about 6 times in the past two years, but during those trips, I have accumulated these coins: 1875-S Seated Liberty dime, 3-cent nickel piece, 1859 IH, 1897 IH, and 2 undated IHs. :)

AWESOME ring Kirk...A definate "KEEPER" I like the Junior detectorists of the future photo , and on a hunch I swung the DFX search coil over the ring pic showing on my Toshiba laptop and it rang out 85 vdi "Quater" ;D

Cool ring Kirk! Funny picture. It would have been real funny if both of you were flexing in that pic. with sleeve less shirts on ! ;D

We were just happy to have a bag of candy. :) It is odd, we never talked about detecting back then. ;) :D ;D :D

I can certainly repsect that, if you got your reasons that is fine, just thought I would ask, because Wilver aroused my curiosity.
I have to say... you have quite a few followers using your wilvers term.
It reminds me of a storybook my daughter did a report on for school.
This kid wanted to rename a pencil to a "Friendle" and so everyone started calling the pencil a "Friendle".
After all aren't all words just made up with learned meanings attached to them.
Well Kirk, enjoy finding your Wilvers.
I will be watching.

Missed this post. I cannot believe that THE KirkPa is slumming in the parks now. ;) :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D

Hey you see you can find some interesting stuff in parks even if they have been hammered as long as you have some skills! ;D :D

Nice ring Kirk

Nice silver ring! HH, Mike
