I hope this is the right place to post this!

Just learned that the Antiques Roadshow tonight "Monday, April 9, 2007 at 8PM ET" will have a
CSA Belt buckle on it.

"At the Mobile Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center, the excitement is contagious when ROADSHOW experts discover a highly desirable Confederate army belt buckle..."

A link if you only want to see the online video of it:

I love the guy's face when he hears what the appraiser has to say :D

There was a TN member who dug a similar plate a little while ago. He posted it here. Of course it was not in the same condition.

One of these "CS Oval with Stars" belt plates was featured in the Best Finds of 1998 in Western & Eastern Treasures. At the time, it was valued at $20,000.

Good catch! That's how treasure is often found, from a little clue like that.

The owner of the belt buckle said something else that should be noted by treasure hunters: he said he saw something out of the ordinary and stopped to look at it, finding the buckle in a clump of dirt that resembled a piece of coal. Anytime you see something unusual, out of place, strange, or just plain weird - check it out because it might be treasure!!!

I missed the show..but enjoyed the link! Thanks for sharing! You never know what you will find in the "dirt". Love this hobby!

All I can say is ...Ka Ching...lol
Belt buckle.....$5
This belt buckle....Priceless

I can't even imagine shelling out $20,000.00 for a belt buckle?!

I sure would like to sell one for that price though.

I guess 20 grand to someone who has 20 million is just a drop in the bucket, but 20 grand around my house sure would come in handy!
