Hey folks,
Had a good day in North Laurel yesterday. Scored a beautiful dog tax tag. 1912 with a β€œ3 over 2” overpunch. Found it about 7” with my M6.
1 IH – 1884
1 Rosie – who cares about the date :tongue3:
1 V nickel – 1912 (I think)
Handful β€˜o wheats

More to come!

Thanks for looking. Have a great day!

You know, I had no idea dog tags went back so far until coming to this forum. I've found recent ones, but nothing that old. I doubt if they even issued them before WWII in my county. The 1912 is way cool!

I have found several old dog tags through the years and they are always fun. I have been lucky enough to return a couple and there is usually a pretty good story that goes along with the return. That one is definitely and oldie. Congrats on the tag and all your other finds !!!

Love digging those, that one's sweet.
And old.
I can't count the number of brain cells I um, misplaced going to concerts at the old Capitol Center in Laurel.
Wait, I meant Landover.
See what I mean?
I can't even remember where I lived in Prince Georges County!
What the hell did I do in Laurel?
Carl

These are all so awesome! My oldest is 1955. I have the one issued from the Oak Ridge Veterinary clinic, which is still in business with the city dog tax tag still attached. I find these especially interesting because I have worked for a veterinarian for the past 14 years. The clinic these tags were issued from is located not far from the one I work at. Love this post! Yall have a great night!
