It's pretty far gone and rusty as heck but it sure looks like an old gun, pretty heavy too. The old barrel has evidence of couple screw holes. Be cool if anyone here could identify it or what time frame its from? I have been hammering an old site that's produced lots old coppers late 1700's through early 1800's. Found that bell today and was excited too, first one i have dug. Plenty of buttons of all shapes and sizes and one copper today that is far too toasted to even make out.

Nice assortment of finds jml818 - BUT - I don't see a gun in that collection... Thanks for sharing...

You got some nice finds. I like the bell.

Nice relic finds. I like that Bell. I don't think your item that is shaped like a gun, is a gun.

jm, it looks pretty toasted with rust, so try soaking it in apple cider vinegar for a few days, it will take off a lot of the rust and you can get a better idea of what it is/was perhaps. The coppers?, those are something we won't find out here. A good site to detect you have.

Congrats on a very nice day out.

:dontknow: a gun or chunk of broken machinery ?

Nice relics and congrats on your first bronze bell! I also have it on my bucket list ;)

Hi, some nice finds, love the old gun:icon_thumright:
