I found these two buttons which I believe one is a cuff button and s shirt button. Found at a Fort in New Orleans from early 18th century.

I had a friend say it could be French Marine buttons from late 17th century. I have found a lot of 18 century coins and two Indian tomahawks most things were found in a shell mound which the Fort was built over Screenshot 2021-02-23 at 6.50.40 PM.webp

Hi Truth. By your request, I've come to the Buttons forum to examine your New Orleans fort buttons. I cannot be as much help to you about them as I can be about RevWar and Civil War buttons, because my relic-studies involve the time-period of those wars, not earlier ones. All I can say is, your N.O. fort buttons look like some early-1700s ones I've seen in other people's posts. But I suggest you post them in the What Is It? forum, so the early-Colonial-Era experts there can see them and give you more-specific info than I can.
