The Badger Brass Manufacturing Company was founded on September 13, 1897 by Richard H. Welles, Charles N. Frost, George A. Yule, and E. S. Williams in Chicago, Illinois. The Union Lamp Company and Solar Acetylene Lamp Company were both acquired and consolidated into the firm. Its industry was automotive and bicycle headlights and its headquarters were in Chicago, Illinois (1897-1898) and Kenosha, Wisconsin (1898-1917). In January 1917, the firm was acquired by the C. M. Hall Lamp Company.
