Found in a lake where the water receded a lot. This place was a farm up until the 1950's then filled in to make the lake. I did find a colonial shoe buckle in the same area awhile back. It appears to be made of pewter. It's about 6" by 4" when it was full of dirt it looked like mother Theresa haha. After cleaning it, it's a man with full beard and mustache and head wrap. Indian? Jesus? Middle East man? Looks like it had something across the back. Try Peter, turn up side down to read any words. I see the word priest, but unsure which order. It is at least 300 yrs. Old.

I will admit my first thought was Native American. But they don't typically have significant facial hair.

There are plenty of Native America styled bookends from the first half of the 20th C. I'm still thinking bookend...

DCMatt

BTW... It looks like pot metal to me.

It could be an emblem off of a fishing boat, some companies had Indian names.

I don't think it's heavy enough for a door stop or book end. It's very lite weight, I don't think it would hold. Def one of the strangest things I've found. It's kinda creepy lol

I wonder if a Winnebago had that as an Emblem.
