First piece is from jewelry more than likely...
Second piece is strange... and "looks like" plastic...
Can you tell what it is made of ?
looks like a pipe part or something.
And could you take another photo with a coin for size reference please.

It does feel like rubber and has a metal piece on side. It was found with a bunch of different items about five feet underground. We are removing an old clothes line ( we think is old clothes line) had be fifty plus years old. Found a lot of bones as well.

Lol... hope they are not "human" bones... heh.

My "guess" is...

A pen.

We actually had the police dept send someone out due to the family who built and owned this house and adjoining property since 1930 had ties to certain organizations. The officer wasn't sure so he told us to call once we see anything more identifying.
I thought a pen as well but the end of it through me off. Ill put up a different pic.

Oh wait I see your picture now. I bet that's what it is.

Tis a pen.
:)
No further picture needed :)

Thank you for helping me solve the mystery. [emoji4]

Oh... btw...
You should metal detect the property HARD.
:)
Especially with 1930's "ties".
This would be a "textbook" Md property.

ARRC just called gas company to come out and mark the gas lines. I have a beginner metal detector but it should work. I'm sure once I start digging for my garden I'll come up with even more surprising items.

Be sure and post your finds...
Love to see what you find there.

Where did you find that first loop/ring type item, to the left of the pen ? At an old site ? If so, then I forget the proper name of it, but I believe it's the following item: A hitching ring for horses, when no trees for tie-down purposes are available (like out on prarie grass lands, etc...): They would drive a stake into the ground through the small loop, and then the rope to the horse, through the other loop. Hence a tie-down post for horse reigns.

I found it along side all this other stuff. Not sure a date but the home was built in 1930 by family we purchased it from. My friend told me the clothes line pole we found all this stuff around has been up for fifty plus years. It's fairly light weight and feels of soft metal. I scratched off a bit of the outer layer and it shows of shiny gold.

The tiny part by small keyhole loop

Penny, Now that you've posted a better pix of your item, I might have to retract my proposed ID. Seems like your item is too small to be what I was thinking. Here's some pix of the horse hitching loops I spoke of: In the first pix, it's on the lower left. .....
