Any Ideas?

Hey y'all. Found this today in the middle of a large soapstone deposit. Does this look like a crude attempt at a point or is it simply a clever act of nature? The "base", if it even is one, seems quite symmetrical so I figured I would get some opinions.

I'm with Quito-natural. If it is soapstone do not think they would make a point out of that material.
