What are the letters on the clock face in the second picture?

It says mercedes. I know it is a German clock but i have no idea about the date and value of it today

Looks to me like it says "Peter" That was/is a company in Germany that made clocks. The symbols in the back of the mechanism case look to be 1930's to 1950's ish.

Per "soaringjoy" in another forum:

Peter-Uhren GmbH, Niedereschbach + Rottweil (after 1924), was a well known
manufacturer, especially of alarm clocks and was in business from 1914 to 1996.
Your clock is a so called "style clock" (Stiluhr).

Not in the second image you posted of the clock face. It says "peter" under the hands.
