Detector(s) used
Tesoro Tigershark, White's DFX-300
As I mentioned in my earlier post, I bought the White's DFX-300 this afternoon.

Now, I need a good set of headphones. Can anyone give me a suggestion for a good set of headphones to go along with the detector?

Can I plug in my stereo headphones in the DFX untill I get a real pair of Detector headphones?

Thansk!!!!

CW,
I picked up a set of Killer B's, (stinger G model) and have been very happy with them. I got them for around $75 from detector depot if I remember correctly. One thing you'll notice, and I think most will agree, is to spend a little extra money for a good set of headphones....it really is worth it. There are quite a few really good options out there, just make sure you do a lil' research and find what suits you best. Good luck,

I have a set of black widows and a set of grey ghosts.Once you start getting familiar with the sounds of your detector you will want to fork out for a quality pair. You just can't get the sound quality(pitches)from a cheap pair. Also the deeper coins or soft sound of small gold won't come through a cheap set.

When mine went out on me, the ones that came with my minelab, I replaced them with a pair from Radio Shack, they are comforatable & work fine, they cost $22 & some change

My 2-cents . . .
All this talk about missing something if you don't buy top of the line
headphones - I think it's baloney.
I have been using cheap headphones alternating with the higher priced
ones and I see no difference.
Just get something cheap and comfortable, like for a Walkman
or iPod or something.
I do find I need one with individually adjusting volume controls for each
ear, as the detector itself does not have a volume control.
I also suggest you avoid the ear "buds" - they slip out too easily
while you're digging.
Get either the kind with full loop from ear to ear, or better yet
the kind that covers your ears to keep them warm in winter.
